Where does the tutoring take place?
All tutoring occurs on any schedule the client sees fit! We come to your home or to another convenient location, such as a library. In addition, we offer Drop-In tutoring on Thursday afternoons from 4-7PM. Drop-In hours are designed to help your child get the help he or she needs before a quiz or test that is tomorrow.
What if a parent can't be home during tutoring?
The safety of your child comes first. We require that a parent or guardian (18 years old+) must be present if tutoring takes place at your home. Otherwise, we are happy to meet your child at the school, library, or when you are home.
All tutors apply online. All interested tutors fill out an online application form that is sent to the Peer2Peer Tutors Human Resources team. Each application is accompanied by a copy of the tutor’s unofficial high school transcript and references for quality assurance. If approved after a telephone interview, all tutors must attend Tutor Training, a program that is held several times a month by the M.O.M.
Are the tutors the same age as the student receiving tutoring?
No. Normally, at a minimum, there is a two year age difference between the client and the tutor to ensure that the role model relationship is formed. When a client is interested in a specialty subject (AP Calculus, AP Biology), the company can bring in a college level tutor in order to maximize the Peer2Peer learning environment.
How much does Peer2Peer Tutors charge for one-to-one subject tutoring?
Peer2Peer Tutors charges on an hourly basis. All payment is done in advance online or by check. We accept all major credit cards, but we do not accept cash. Any unused tutoring sessions are always FULLY refundable, and tutoring sessions do carry over for one school year. You can also split packages between siblings within the household and use however you prefer. Below is a detailed pricing breakdown for tutoring:

If a tutor does show up to your home, there is a $17.50 cancellation penalty. Please contact both the M.O.M as well as your tutor when canceling an appointment.

Peer2Peer Tutors believes that tutoring should not end when school does. We offer tutoring all summer long and specialize in summer math packets, summer reading, course reinforcement, and future course preparation. We will help you purchase materials if necessary and have our tutors prepare individually-tailored lesson plans for clients. In addition, we run a 1/2 Day Enrichment Camp that is designed to help students complete summer work and prepare for any math, reading, or science grades 3-11.
Does Peer2Peer Tutors offer SAT prep?
SAT prep is a service that Peer2Peer Tutors offers on a limited first come, first serve basis. The students we employ for SAT prep not only score at exceptional levels, but also know how to relay their methods and instruction to other students. Email sales@peer2peertutors.com for more information.
Peer2Peer Tutors uses the term M.O.M as an acronym for Management Operational Mentor. This is a localized management role for someone who has lived in the area for a long time, and knows the teachers, counselors, and PTA members in the community. Contact your M.O.M and set up your appointment today!
