"The program offers exceptional value and exceptional service. The tutors are great; they are high school students themselves who have gone through the system and have mastered the subjects that they teach. They can really relate to the kids, plus they understand the curriculum. And it's totally hassle-free, they come to your house. It's really worked for us."

-Joanne E., Hoover Middle School Parent.

Where does the tutoring take place?

All tutoring occurs on any schedule the client sees fit! We come to your home or to another location of preference, such as a library.

How do we choose our tutors?

All tutors apply online or by contacting the M.O.M. All interested tutors fill out an online form that is sent to the Peer2Peer Tutors Application Reviewer. Each application is accompanied by a copy of the tutor’s unofficial high school transcript for quality assurance. Once approved, all tutors must attend Tutor Training, a program that is held weekly by the M.O.M and Application Reviewer.

In the Peer2Peer model, are the tutors the same age as the student receiving tutoring?

No. At minimum, there is a two year age difference between the client and the tutor to ensure that the role model relationship is formed. When a client is interested in a specialty subject (AP Calculus, AP Biology), the company can bring in a college level tutor in order to maximize the Peer2Peer learning environment.

How much does Peer2Peer Tutors charge for one-to-one subject tutoring?

Peer2Peer Tutors charges on an hourly basis. All payment is done online and we accept all major credit cards. We do not accept cash. Most clients purchase an 8 session block, which is a $40 per hour value. Below is a detailed pricing breakdown for tutoring:

Number of Hours

Charge

Discount

Value

1 $45.00   $45.00
4 $170.00 6%  $42.50
8 $320.00 11%  $40.00
12 $450.00 17%  $37.50
16 $560.00 22%  $35.00

What is the cancellation policy?

Peer2Peer Tutors understands that the lives of our clients are quite busy, so cancellations are inevitable. We ask that you kindly give us 24 hour notice of all cancellations and we will gladly re-schedule your appointment. If a tutor does show up to your home, there is a $17.50 cancellation penalty. Please contact both the M.O.M as well as your tutor when canceling an appointment.

If I am paying by check, to whom and where do I mail my payment to?

Please make all checks out to 'Erik Kimel Enterprises, LLC.' Our mailing address is:

What does being MCPS approved really mean?

Peer2Peer Tutors is approved by Montgomery County Public Schools for table use. That means that our information can be out in the open for parents, students, and teachers alike to browse through in a counselor’s office. Because we reward students for taking an interest in their studies, the county has awarded us this special status.

Is summer tutoring available?

Peer2Peer Tutors believes that tutoring should not end when school does. We offer tutoring all summer long and specialize in summer math packets, summer reading, course reinforcement, and future course preparation. We will help you purchase materials if necessary and have our tutors prepare individually-tailored lesson plans for clients.

Does Peer2Peer Tutors offer SAT prep?

SAT prep is a service that Peer2Peer Tutors offers on a limited first come, first serve basis. The students we employ for SAT prep not only score at exceptional levels, but also know how to relay their methods and instruction to other students. Email sat@peer2peertutors.com for more information.

What is a M.O.M?

Peer2Peer Tutors uses the term M.O.M as an acronym for Management Operational Mentor. This is a localized management role for someone who has lived in the area for a long time, and knows the teachers, counselors, and PTA members in the community. Contact your M.O.M and set up your appointment today!

How do I get in contact with my M.O.M?

Peer2Peer Tutors promises that if you contact a M.O.M. via email or telephone, we will follow-up within 24 hours of your inquiry.
