Meet Our Team
Intellectual Vibrance meets Sophisticated Funk.
People ask us how we are able to manage so many people. It's simple: we share one vision - to make learning cool - and align our entire organization with family values...

Our Team.
Though Peer2Peer started out as a teen managed business, founder Erik Kimel knew that our clients needed an adult to handle questions as only M.O.M.’s (Management Operations Mentors) can.
Management Operational Mentor (M.O.M.'s)
Ann Connelly, Regional Manager. Our first M.O.M. started out as a client and was so impressed at the quality of tutors from P2P that it was a natural fit to start helping other parents who needed one. With her education in Business Administration and Hotel Management, Ann brings many years of customer satisfaction skills to P2P and is now working to grow our market share as well as keeping our focus on what’s most important: making sure our clients are happy. Erik often forages through her kitchen as homemade cookies are usually nearby.
Lynn Gertz, Montgomery County, MD. With 30 years of teaching experience in Montgomery County Public Schools, Lynn brings excellent experience to Peer2Peer and even more excitement about the company. Lynn covers the Bethesda & Chevy Chase communities, where Peer2Peer was awarded Best Tutoring Company by Bethesda Magazine. She and her husband have two children and are proud grandparents of two. If it's football season, you'll find Lynn wearing her Redskins shirt!
Susan Clarkson, Montgomery County, MD. Covering the very busy Potomac and Rockville areas for Peer2Peer, Susan has degrees both in psychology and special education which she used in education and then in sales at Xerox and Digital Equipment. She is the mother of two college students, one attending the University of Virginia and the other at the University of Michigan (so during College Football season, you’ll see her dividing her allegiance between schools!).
Amy Bahel, Howard County, MD. Amy has worked for the Federal Government in a variety of technical and leadership positions for the past 20+ years. She is excited to join the Peer2Peer team and to have an opportunity to directly contribute to the educational process. Amy has three children in (or graduated from!) the Howard County school system. Not many people can say they took one child to college orientation and another child to Kindergarten orientation the following day! In her spare time, Amy enjoys singing, biking, walking, and any activity that involves being outside.
Kathy Michelman, Fairfax County, VA. Kathy worked in Fairfax County Public Schools for 20 years, the last 12 of those years as the College and Career Center Specialist at Robinson, the largest Secondary School in the county. Kathy and her husband are the parents of a public interest lawyer, who when he was in high school tutored others, so she saw first hand the results of peer to peer tutoring. She loves to read and travel.
Lonna Romeo, Westchester County, NY. After a decade in the fashion industry, Lonna made a complete change in her career to work as a Legal Assistant for an adoption attorney 15 years ago. Lonna is married with three children. Her daughter attends Muhlenberg College, her eldest son attends Roger Williams University and her youngest son attends Albert Leonard Middle School. In her free time she is seen watching travel baseball or at the beach watching her kids surf.
Diana Jaeger, Westchester County, NY. Diana worked at Home Box Office (HBO), where she developed incentive programs and managed HBO trainers across the country. Since leaving HBO, she’s been involved with many projects that take advantage of her organizational skills, from running school book fairs to doing the bookkeeping for a nonprofit agency. She and her husband have a son in 8th grade; they love finding music concerts they can enjoy together as a family.
Iris Berkowitz, Montgomery County, PA. Iris has always had a passion for children and education. She has substituted at the Gladwyne Montessori school and Har Zion Preschool. She has three children, one a recent graduate from the University of Pennsylavania, one a sophomore at Indiana University and a third who is currently a high school senior. She takes an active role in the local school community and now wants to channel her energy to Peer2Peer Tutors.
Beth Kimel, Accounting. Beth was a Chief Financial Officer for a community bank for seven years. Lately she has been working with P2P as the business has expanded. Beth is an avid walker, bridge player and foodie (100% organic, of course). She is the proud Mom to Erik, Founder of P2P, and Sara, a senior at UMD Smith School of Business - go Terps!
Emily Shniderman, Director of Human Resources. Starting as a tutor for Peer2Peer in high school, Emily continued with the company at NYU as the application reviewer. After screening over 200 students in her freshman year, Emily was promoted to the Director of Human Resources position at the ripe age of 19. She is fluent in Spanish, learning sign language, and studying Social Work. Voted Best Dressed in high school, Emily continues to wear her signature eclectic wardrobe in the LES of Manhattan.
Erik Kimel, Founder and CEO. Erik started Peer2Peer as a senior at Churchill High School in Montgomery County, Maryland and recently graduated one semester early from New York University's Stern School of Business with a double major in Finance and Management. He was named one of the 10 Most Interesting People in 2006 by Bethesda Magazine. Kimel sits on various boards, including MCBRE and the Montgomery County Youth Council, and is a regular speaker in NYU Stern's MBA course Managing Change.
